Wisconsin mPINC Challenge

The Maternity Practices in Infant Nutrition and Care survey is a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) evaluates hospitals on various aspects of care. The Wisconsin report card, published in 2021, showed that Wisconsin had a breastfeeding initiation rate of 87%, any breastfeeding at six months rate of 62%, and exclusive breastfeeding rate at six months of 31%. The presentation will provide tips for improving support for breastfeeding in hospitals.

Paula K. Schreck, MD, IBCLC, FABM, is Chief Medical Officer of Coffective and medical director of the St. John Mother Nurture Network and Lactation Consultant Program. She leads Baby-Friendly and quality improvement initiatives nationwide and serves on the Board of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine and the NABBLM.
