In this webinar we will review current state of maternal mortality in WI and how cardiovascular disorders contribute. The speaker will cover a variety of topics and updates within the literature regarding all aspects of hypertension during pregnancy and postpartum.  Additionally, there will be a discussion on cardiovascular risk management after hypertension during pregnancy.  Suggestions for how to incorporate these literature results/recommendations into your practice will be provided.

Meet the instructor

Kara Hoppe, DO, PhD

Dr. Kara Hoppe is an Associate Professor and Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist at UW Health, focused on advancing maternal health and equity. Her research on pregnancy and postpartum hypertension led to the development of the STAC Program, improving early detection and treatment, reducing readmissions, and influencing national care guidelines.
