2026 respectful care
Respectful Care at the Intersection of Mental Health and Substance Use
This presentation explores how respectful, culturally responsive care can
help individuals feel safe sharing their experiences with mental health
concerns or substance use. The panelists discuss the strengths that patients and
families bring, the barriers that can prevent honest conversations, and the
ways interdisciplinary collaboration can create more connected, compassionate
care. Finally, the discussion examines how we can foster dignity, hope, and partnership with policies and practices.
