2026 Perinatal Substance Use Webinar Series

Pediatric Management of Prenatal Substance Exposure

Prenatal substance exposure can have a significant impact on the infant. The first steps in managing infants exposed to substances prenatally are to determine the substances and to recognize the clinical presentation of withdrawal. With early recognition of Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome (NOWS), providers can select the strategy that best supports the infant and family. This presentation describes how management of NOWS impacts outcome and how toxicology testing can impact care.
