Meet the instructors

Amy Gilliland, PhD, DBT(DTD), AdvCD(DONA), CSES (AASECT)

Amy L. Gilliland, former Research Fellow at UW–Madison, founded Doulaing the Doula Training and Certification Programs to provide inclusive, trauma-informed, and accessible doula education. Her work spans labor support, infant mental health, attachment, fathers and birth, and women’s sexual experiences, combining research, education, and practical support.

Emily Jacobson

Emily Jacobson is a labor and postpartum doula based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She founded Green Bay Doulas in 2015 and the Wisconsin Doulas Association in 2019, providing comprehensive family support, advanced doula education, and fostering professional networks for doulas across the state.
