Meet the instructor

Christa Blohowiak, MSN, RN, C-EFM

Christa Blohowiak has worked in Labor and Delivery for 25 years, 18 of which she spent at the bedside doing direct patient care. Now, her role has transitioned to nursing education working across five Obstetric Units in the ThedaCare System. She also is an Intermediate –Electronic Fetal Monitoring AWHONN instructor.

Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Review fetal monitoring data systematically to identify the fetal heart rate pattern classification (category).

  • Describe interventions/management of the fetal heart rate patterns based on pathophysiology.

  • Determine communication plan with other team members to ensure safe outcomes for birthing person and infant.
