Meet the instructor

Janet Letter, MSN, RNC-OB, C-EFM

Janet has been a perinatal nurse for 25 years.  She holds certifications in both inpatient obstetrics and electronic fetal monitoring.  She has been a perinatal staff educator and the clinical nurse specialist for the maternity unit. Her work involves updating policies and procedures to ensure the team provides evidence-based care.  In addition, she is adjunct faculty for Bellin College.

Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Review fetal monitoring data systematically to identify the fetal heart rate pattern classification (category).

  • Describe interventions/management of the fetal heart rate patterns based on pathophysiology.

  • Determine communication plan with other team members to ensure safe outcomes for birthing person and infant.
