Meet the instructor

Janet Letter, MSN, RNC-OB, C-EFM

Janet has been a perinatal nurse for 25 years.  She holds certifications in both inpatient obstetrics and electronic fetal monitoring.  She has been a perinatal staff educator and the clinical nurse specialist for the maternity unit. Her work involves updating policies and procedures to ensure the team provides evidence-based care.  In addition, she is adjunct faculty for Bellin College.

Meet the instructor

Jody Lindsley, BSN, RNC-OB, C-EFM

Jody has been a labor nurse for 14 years. She is a nurse educator for the unit. Additionally, she is EFM certified and in an AWHONN Intermediate fetal monitoring instructor.

Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Review fetal monitoring data systematically to identify the fetal heart rate pattern classification (category).

  • Describe interventions/management of the fetal heart rate patterns based on pathophysiology.

  • Determine communication plan with other team members to ensure safe outcomes for birthing person and infant.
