2024 perinatal substance use
Reporting Perinatal Substance Use
Perinatal substance use is a significant health problem. There are clear benefits to receiving appropriate care throughout pregnancy, but stigma and potential legal concerns can prevent a pregnant person from seeking and receiving the care they need. Wisconsin has specific laws/statutes that dictate what must be done and what may be done. This presentation reviews work performed at the Medical College of Wisconsin to evaluate provider responses.
