Meet the instructor

Anne Kuschel, RN, BSN, C-EFM

Anne has worked in direct patient care for over 30 years in labor and delivery and Mother/Baby in a small hospital. She has acted as a preceptor for students and new staff and has run drills in the unit for nearly 20 years, on the unit Practice Group and chairing OB Expert Team. She also has expertise in setting practice changes, writing unit policies and procedures, and reviewing unit events. Anne teaches Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring and works with WAPC (Wisconsin Association of Perinatal Care) to update the Fetal Monitoring curriculum. She also teaches Neonatal Resuscitation.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

Review fetal monitoring data systematically to identify the fetal heart rate pattern classification (category).
Describe interventions/management of the fetal heart rate patterns based on pathophysiology.
Determine communication plan with other team members to ensure safe outcomes for birthing person and infant.
